Start with the
thing that matters.

You don’t need every feature. You need the right first product, the right AI use case, or a clear next move.

A clear scope.
A shared finish line.

Make the important decisions early, then build around a working product you can review.

  1. 1

    Find the useful core

Define the user, the problem, and what a first version needs to prove.

  2. 2

    Agree on the build

Set the scope, deliverables, budget, and milestones before development begins.

  3. 3

    Build, review, refine

Review working software, make informed tradeoffs, and plan the handoff.

Senior judgment.
Hands-on building.

I’m Joseph Gonzalez, a software development director. I lead 35+ people across five development teams, and I build independent products myself.

For your project, that means a conversation with the person thinking through the product and doing the work. The selected products above are my independent portfolio.

Discuss your project

A few things
you might be asking.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on the product and the scope. Share the idea and any budget you have in mind. We’ll discuss deliverables and cost before committing to a build.

Do I need a finished brief?

No. A description of who it’s for, what it should do, and what you’ve tried is enough to start the conversation.

Can you work on an existing product?

Yes. Describe your current product, the stack if you know it, and the change you need. We can discuss an appropriate scope after reviewing what’s there.

What about AI errors and running costs?

AI can get things wrong. The scope should account for representative examples, failure handling, and when a person needs to review a result. Model and hosting costs are part of the planning conversation.

What happens after the build?

We’ll define the handoff before starting: source code, deployment details, documentation, and any ongoing support needed. Those details belong in the agreed scope.

What are
you building?

An idea, a rough brief, a product that needs its next chapter. Start there.
